We will be in Singapore for Asia Photonics Expo (APE 2026)

16 Jan 2026

From February 4 to 6, 2026, global photonics innovation will gather at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, and Tecnottica Consonni is ready to take center stage. We will be exhibiting at the Asia Photonics Expo (APE 2026), Asia’s leading platform for emerging optical technologies, an event that brings together the entire value chain: from optical communications to semiconductors, lasers to quantum.

You can find us at Booth C205, within the EPIC Pavilion, where our CSO, Angelo Fasoli, and our Technical Manager, Francesca Brambilla, will be available to share the latest technological advancements and forge new strategic partnerships.

“The choice to participate in APE 2026 stems from our constant desire to explore dynamic and rapidly growing ecosystems. In an evolving global exhibition landscape, Singapore today represents the ideal crossroads to intercept the most advanced trends and engage with markets ready to adopt high-precision optical solutions.” Angelo Fasoli, CSO Tecnottica Consonni.

The Focus: Aerospace and Aspherical Lenses

At our exhibition space, the dialogue with designers and partners will focus on two of the technological pillars that define Tecnottica’s excellence today. We will present:

  • Large-sized Optics and our production capabilities for large-scale lenses, with diameters reaching 300 mm, specifically designed for challenging Aerospace applications.
  • High-performance Aspheric Lenses, essential for those seeking to reduce weight and size in optical systems without compromising image quality.

In Aerospace applications, the need for large-diameter optics (up to 300 mm) imposes critical challenges:

  • Increasing resolving power, allowing the distinction of smaller details at distances of kilometers.
  • Improving low-light sensitivity, fundamental for astronomical observations or night-time terrestrial monitoring.
  • Managing broad spectral bands, these lenses must often operate within systems that work simultaneously from the visible to the near-infrared (NIR) spectrum, requiring materials with low optical dispersion.
  • The use of low thermal expansion materials, vital to ensure that the lens shape remains unchanged even in extreme environmental conditions.

Processing a 30 cm piece of glass requires dedicated CNC equipment that can guarantee the same sub-micron precision required for smaller lenses, alongside high-resolution metrology. Measuring a 300 mm optic requires large-aperture interferometers or 3D scanning systems capable of mapping the entire surface with a precision of fractions of lambda ($\lambda/20$). Any minimal distortion on such a vast surface would be amplified, compromising the entire optical system.

Aspheric lensOn the other hand, Aspheric lenses represent a key solution for multiple sectors, from Mobile Imaging to Laser & Industrial. Adopting a single aspheric element instead of a traditional lens group allows for:

  • Reducing mass and bulk, a critical factor for portable devices and Aerospace missions.
  • Eliminating spherical aberration, ensuring sharper images and uniform focus across the entire useful field.
  • Improving efficiency in laser systems, by reducing the number of optical surfaces and, consequently, decreasing unwanted losses and reflections.

Thanks to deterministic and adaptive polishing technologies and cutting-edge metrology, Tecnottica ensures high-density shape maps and sub-micron tolerances for every Aspheric lens.

A Technical Speech on Laser Systems

In addition to our presence at the booth, Tecnottica Consonni will be featured in an important technical deep-dive during the session “EUROPE meets ASIA – Innovation in Photonics”, organized by W3+ Fair, IVAM, and EPIC.

On Thursday, February 5th at 4:10 PM, at the Technical Theatre (Sands Expo and Convention Centre, L1), our Technical Manager, Francesca Brambilla, will deliver a presentation titled: “Laser Lenses: Main Features and Production Steps”.

During the speech, the distinctive characteristics of lenses for the Laser market will be analyzed, with a particular focus on the crucial stages of production: from material selection to the surface processing techniques required for the Laser industry. This will be a valuable opportunity to explore how the manufacturing quality of a lens can determine the efficiency and precision of the entire laser system.
