Tecnottica hosts a key stop of the EPIC Technology Meeting on Industrial Laser Processes
On September 9, 2025, Tecnottica Consonni opens the doors of its headquarters to welcome an international delegation of photonics professionals as part of the EPIC Technology Meeting on Industrial Laser Processes, organized by EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium. The event continues on September 10–11 at Optoprim, Milan.
An Experiential Tour of technology, precision, and networking
The day at Tecnottica is structured around three key moments, offering participants a hands-on and immersive experience into the world of precision Optical manufacturing:
- A corporate presentation, to introduce our story, vision, and core competencies.
- A company tour, exploring the most advanced areas of our production facility.
- A live technical demonstration, focused on advanced optical metrology and corrective polishing techniques.
Each session is led by expert technicians who provide insights into critical production stages and respond to specific questions, giving attendees a tangible understanding of how we work and what sets us apart.
The official welcome is given by Angelo Fasoli, Chief Sales Officer of Tecnottica, who opens the day with an institutional presentation. The aim is to provide participants with a complete overview of the company, its history, production capabilities, core application sectors (ranging from industrial photonics to aerospace), and the highly customized approach we apply to developing precision optical components.
It’s not just an informative session, but also an opportunity to spark new synergies among industry players attending the meeting.

Led by Alberto Fasoli, Chief Operating Officer, participants are guided through the beating heart of Tecnottica’s manufacturing operations. This tour offers a rare overview of the journey from lens design to high-performance finished components.
The tour focuses on three main departments:
- Grinding, where lenses are shaped to obtain their specific geometries.
- Polishing, the finishing stage that ensures the highest optical surface quality.
- Centering, the department responsible for precise optical alignment and mechanical centering, which is essential for optimal lens performance.
Throughout the visit, our technical team explains each phase of production in detail, enriching the experience with real examples and technical insights.

The final highlight of the visit is the live technical demonstration, presented by Alessio Valtolina (Production Manager) and Francesca Brambilla (Technical Manager). In a dedicated demonstration area, the Tecnottica team walks participants through an entire lens manufacturing cycle, from initial measurement to corrective polishing and final validation.
- The process begins with a measurement on the LuphoScan 420SD, a 3D profilometer capable of mapping spherical, aspherical, and freeform surfaces, surfaces and the 3D Optical Profiler System ZeGage Pro.
- This is followed by a corrective polishing stage using the Satisloh SPS200, guided by ADAPT software for precise material removal.
- A final measurement is then conducted to confirm the improvement in surface quality.
During the demo, participants view real-time data and simulation graphs, observe before-and-after comparisons, and witness a full production workflow that combines cutting-edge metrology tools with deep in-house expertise.
Building Connections and Shaping the Future
At Tecnottica, we are deeply committed to driving innovation in the Optics Industry. The EPIC event is not only a moment of visibility, but more importantly, an opportunity for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and future growth within the industrial photonics value chain.
“We are honored to have hosted EPIC members and key stakeholders of the European optics industry at our facility. Our thanks go to the entire EPIC organization, and in particular the EPIC team and our colleagues at Optoprim, for making this important initiative possible.”
— Angelo Fasoli.
